Medicare M10 Speech Pathology Referrals

Helping children and young people ( aged 25 and under) access early assessment and intervention.

At GROW, we work alongside GPs to provide comprehensive speech pathology assessment and intervention for children and young people who may be eligible under the Medicare M10 pathway.

Our team makes the referral process straightforward by providing timely assessments, clear clinical reports and ongoing communication to support your patients and their families.

What is the M10 Medicare Pathway?

The Medicare M10 pathway provides eligible children and young people with access to Medicare-funded speech pathology assessment and intervention for specific developmental and communication conditions.
The pathway supports early identification, assessment and intervention, allowing children to receive the right care sooner.

Frequently asked questions

Does my patient need a confirmed diagnosis?

No. Children who are suspected of having an eligible condition may still be referred for assessment under the M10 pathway, provided they meet the Medicare eligibility requirements.

How long is the assessment?

Assessment length varies depending on the child’s needs and presenting concerns. Families will be advised of what to expect when booking.

Will I receive a report?

Yes. Following assessment, a comprehensive report outlining findings and recommendations will be sent to the referring GP.

Can I discuss a referral before sending it?

Absolutely. We welcome phone calls from GPs who would like to discuss a child prior to referral.
