Careers at GROW
Reasons You Probably SHOULDN’T Work at GROW.
Yep. You read that right.
Most careers pages will tell you how amazing their workplace is, how supportive their team is and how they’re looking for passionate, motivated individuals.
Yawn.
We’re going to do things a little differently.
Because at GROW, we’re not trying to be the workplace for everyone.
We’re trying to be the right workplace for the right people.
And sometimes, knowing what you don’t want is just as important as knowing what you do.
So, before you send us your CV, here’s a little heads-up.
You probably SHOULDN’T work at GROW if…
1. You don’t want to be supported.
We’re big on mentoring, collaboration, checking in, asking questions and figuring things out together. If you’d rather be left entirely to your own devices, we might drive you a little crazy.
2. You think you’ve finished learning.
Got your degree? Amazing. Been practising for 20 years? Also amazing.
Think you know everything? Hmm. We might have a problem.
We’re lifelong learners, question-askers, research-readers and occasionally the people who get far too excited about a new clinical resource.
3. You don’t like other professions having opinions.
Our speechies talk to our OTs. Our complex care nurses talk to our lead practitioners. Our social worker brings another perspective. And sometimes, everyone ends up in the same conversation.
It’s multidisciplinary. It’s collaborative.
4. Your favourite phrase is “We’ve always done it this way.”
At GROW, that’s usually the beginning of a conversation, not the end of one.
We challenge ideas, question approaches and change our minds when the evidence tells us something different.
Being open to learning matters more than being right.
5. You think therapy happens only inside four walls.
Sometimes the best therapy happens on the floor, in the garden, on the monkey bars, in someone’s home or in the middle of an everyday moment.
We believe therapy should fit into people’s lives, not the other way around.
6. You take yourself VERY seriously.
We take our clinical responsibilities seriously. Extremely seriously.
But ourselves?
Not so much.
There’s room for laughter, ridiculous conversations, celebrating the smallest wins and being a real person
7. You don’t want to be part of something bigger than your own caseload.
We’re not just here to fill appointment slots.
We’re here to build knowledge, advocate for inclusion, challenge systems, support families and make meaningful changes in our community.
And we’d love our team to help shape what comes next.
Still reading?
Well, this is getting interesting.
Because if you’ve read all of that and thought…
“Actually, that sounds exactly like the kind of place I’d love to work.”
We should probably talk.
Here’s who we’d love to meet
The curious ones.
The kind ones.
The clinicians who ask why before jumping to how.
The people who care about evidence, but understand that people are wonderfully complex.
The experienced practitioners who still get excited about learning something new.
The new graduates who bring fresh ideas and a million questions.
The quiet thinkers. The creative problem-solvers.
The people who know that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
The people who genuinely want to make a difference, and want to enjoy their working lives along the way.
You don’t need to know everything. You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room. You just need to be willing to GROW.
So what actually happens at GROW?!
We’re a growing multidisciplinary team based in Albury–Wodonga, working with children, families and individuals across our community.
Our team brings together speech pathology, occupational therapy, lead practitoners , complex care nursing, social work, counselling and allied health assistance.
We work across communication, feeding, development, participation, regulation, complex care and so much more.
Some days are brilliant. Some are challenging. Some involve a clinical conversation that completely changes how we think about something.
We believe great workplaces are built through:
- Genuine clinical support and mentoring.
- Professional development that actually means something.
- Collaboration across disciplines.
- Opportunities to develop your interests and strengths.
- Honest conversations and constructive feedback.
- Flexibility, creativity and thinking outside the box.
- Celebrating progress, however big or small.
- Remembering that our team members are humans with lives outside of work.
We’re proud of what we’re building.
And we’re still learning, changing and growing too.
But what if you’re not actively looking for a job?
Even better. No pressure.
We’re not interested in collecting CVs just to fill positions.
We’re interested in meeting people who share our values, bring something different to the table and might be part of GROW’s future.
Maybe you’re an experienced clinician wondering what else is out there.
Maybe you’re a new graduate trying to find your people.
Maybe you’re thinking about relocating to beautiful regional Australia.
Or maybe you’ve been quietly following GROW for a while, thinking “I wonder what it’s actually like to work there?”
Well, consider this your invitation.
Let’s skip the boring cover letter.
Tell us who you are.
Tell us what you love about your profession.
Tell us what makes you curious, what you’d love to learn or what you think you could bring to GROW.
Attach your CV if you like.
But please, let your personality come through.
